Terry Fox Visitor Information Centre’s Service Area Closed to Public

Wednesday March 18, 2020 – Following the announcement of recreation facilities and program closures, Tourism Thunder Bay has taken additional steps to ensure the safety of the public and City staff members. The Terry Fox Visitor Information Centre’s visitor services area is now closed to the public, effective immediately. This decision was made to help with growing concerns around COVID-19 and the recommendation by the Ontario Chief Medical officer and Health Canada to practice social distancing.

The public will not be able to enter the main area of the Information Centre. The public restrooms will remain open from 9 am – 5 pm daily with enhanced cleaning and sanitation practises. The separation wall between the washroom facilities and information area will remain closed until further notice. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, Tourism Thunder Bay staff will continue to monitor the situation and take further action as needed.

Travel Councillors remain on-site daily to respond to visitor telephone calls and email inquiries for information. Signage is posted on the doors with the alternative contact methods. The Visitor Centre can be contacted at 1-800-667-8386, or by email at visit@thunderbay.ca. Visitor information can also be found 24/7 at www.visitthunderbay.com
