Wednesday, October 16 – The Thunder Bay and District Entrepreneur Center is gearing up for Small Business Week 2024 with Thunder Bay’s vibrant small business community to host a series of workshops, networking events, and educational sessions designed to support local entrepreneurs and foster business growth. Running from October 21st to October 25th, this week-long celebration will offer something for everyone, from seasoned entrepreneurs to those just starting out.

“Small Business Week is a vital opportunity for entrepreneurs and local businesses to come together, share knowledge, and learn from one another,” said Jamie Taylor, CEO of the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC). “Thunder Bay has a dynamic business community, and this week highlights the strength, innovation, and resilience of our local entrepreneurs. I encourage everyone to take part in Small Business Week by attending or supporting the exciting events happening throughout the week”

A range of community organizations are coming together to host events throughout the week, providing opportunities for learning, collaboration, and business development.

  Open to the public, Mayor Ken Boshcoff will announce the opening of Small Business Week

• Pitch It Workshop presented by Ingenuity and Northern Ontario Innovation Centre (NOIC)
  Open to the public, this interactive workshop will provide budding entrepreneurs with a platform to pitch their ideas and receive valuable feedback.

  A special webinar hosted by the Business Development Bank of Canada, focusing on key topics for business growth.

• PARO Wednesday Webinar
  Demystifying AI and the Responsible Use of AI & Automation
  Date: Wednesday, October 23 at 12:15 pm
  Location: Virtual
• Canadian Intellectual Property Office IP Workshop and Networking Event in partnership with Confederation College and NOIC
  This workshop will focus on intellectual property and the importance of protecting your business ideas, followed by a networking event in the Tech Hub.
