The Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) has launched its 2026 Work Here campaign, a national marketing initiative designed to showcase Thunder Bay as an exceptional place to live, work, and build a career.
The campaign leverages Thunder Bay’s unique lifestyle assets, highlighting the community’s natural beauty, outdoor recreation, vibrant culture, and quality of life to attract skilled workers from across Canada. Using only epic local footage and authentic community-generated content, the campaign features powerful imagery paired with a simple, impactful message: Work Here.
Running nationally from June through September, the campaign directs audiences to the newly launched website, workinthunderbay.ca, where prospective residents can explore career opportunities, learn about life in Thunder Bay, and discover why more Canadians are choosing to call the city home.
“Competition for talent is stronger than ever across Canada, and communities need to stand out. Thunder Bay’s greatest advantage is the lifestyle we offer,” said Jamie Taylor, CEO, Thunder Bay CEDC. “Through the Work Here campaign, we’re showcasing the authentic experiences, natural beauty, and quality of life that make our community unique. We want people to move here for work but stay because they fall in love with the lifestyle.”
By attracting skilled workers and new residents to Thunder Bay, the 2026 Work Here campaign advances a key initiative under Thunder Bay CEDC’s Community Pillar in the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan. The campaign also supports the City of Thunder Bay’s Smart Growth Action Plan by strengthening the local talent pool, helping employers address workforce needs, driving economic growth, and contributing to a vibrant, sustainable, and prosperous community (T1 Employment Opportunity Promotion).
