Thunder Bay CEDC Welcomes 2026 Summer Visitor Services Team

The Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC)’s Tourism Thunder Bay is pleased to welcome its 2026 Summer Visitor Services Team, a group of dedicated students who will help create memorable experiences for visitors throughout Thunder Bay’s busy tourism season.

This summer, seven students will join the Visitor Services Team, working alongside two full-time staff members to support tourism operations across the city.

“The Visitor Services Team plays an important role in helping visitors discover everything Thunder Bay has to offer,” said Jamie Taylor, CEO of the Thunder Bay CEDC. “We are excited to welcome this year’s summer students and look forward to the energy, enthusiasm, and exceptional service they will bring to our tourism operations.”

Based at the Terry Fox Monument Visitor Centre, the Pagoda, and the Cruise Ship Welcome Cabin, the team serves as a key point of contact for visitors exploring the region. Their responsibilities include welcoming tourists and residents, providing information about local attractions, events, and services, preparing tourism information packages and VIP kits, and helping ensure visitor facilities remain clean, organized, and inviting.

The Terry Fox Monument Visitor Centre is open all year round seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Pagoda is also open daily throughout the summer season from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Together, these facilities provide visitors with a welcoming place to learn about Thunder Bay, discover local attractions, and enjoy one of Canada’s most iconic panoramic views.

“We’re excited to have our summer team supporting the tens of thousands of visitors expected to stop at the Terry Fox Monument Visitor Centre this season, helping create memorable experiences for visitors from near and far,” added Paul Pepe, Manager Tourism Thunder Bay.

Throughout the summer, the Visitor Services Team will support a variety of events, activities, and visitor engagement opportunities designed to showcase Thunder Bay’s attractions, culture, and hospitality.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to stop by the Terry Fox Monument Visitor Centre and take part in the many activities and events planned throughout the season.
