Community Economic Development Commission Wins Advertising Award

Tuesday February 13, 2018 – Thunder Bay’s Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) has won an Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO) Award of Excellence for advertisements that were placed on Toronto Transit Commission vehicles in 2017.

The winning advertising campaign encouraged residents of Toronto, or anyone else riding that city’s transit, to consider the advantages of living, working or investing in Thunder Bay and to visit www.gotothunderbay.ca.

“It is an honour to be recognized with the EDCO Award,” said Doug Murray, CEO, Community Economic Development Commission. “It shows that our advertising campaign showcasing Thunder Bay as a great place to live and work resonated with the judges.”

The CEDC also received an Honourable Mention in the “Branding” category for its Go To Thunder Bay website.

EDCO presents these awards annually. The EDCO Awards of Excellence is a well-established program available to communities to have their economic development initiatives judged by industry leaders against their peers.
