Entrepreneurship Celebrated During BDC Small Business Week
Friday October 12, 2018 – BDC Small Business Week will be Oct. 14 through Oct. 20, as declared by Mayor Hobbs this morning.
BDC Small Business Week has been celebrating entrepreneurship since 1979. Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), along with partners Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC)/Thunder Bay & District Entrepreneur Centre (EC), PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise, Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre, Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce, Thunder Bay Ventures, SHIFT Thunder Bay’s Young Professionals Network, Lakehead University Economic Development & Innovation (EDI), Ingenuity, and Thunder Bay Public Library, has compiled an exciting calendar of events and activities to recognize our small businesses and their contributions.
Under the theme, Digitize now: Transform your business, this year’s BDC Small Business Week will feature workshops on the topics of financial literacy, business planning, photography, digital banking, and digital marketing. Local women in business will be the focus of BDC’s sponsored event, This Woman Means Business, taking place Tuesday, Oct. 16.
“A healthy business sector is paramount to a robust economy,” said BDC’s Michael Nitz, Manager of Business Centre Ontario North. “BDC Small Business Week recognizes the contributions of our entrepreneurs and shines a light on the resources available to help them succeed.”
